Samuel E. Dey Jr., MD – Medical Director

Samuel E. Dey, Jr., MD, is a Riverside-based psychiatrist with over 25 years of experience in treating conditions like depression, anxiety, ADHD, bipolar disorder and schizophrenia.

He has a special place in his heart for the elderly, knowing that people are more prone to feelings of depression and abandonment as they get older and find themselves living alone.

Dr. Dey is certified in psychiatry, with added qualifications in geriatric psychiatry, through the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.

Since founding Dogon Behavioral Medical Group in 1996, Dr. Dey has grown it into a practice that now includes marriage and family therapists, licensed clinical social workers, and a psychologist. Dogon is the only Inland Empire clinic that offers NeuroStar TMS Therapy®, an innovative new treatment for depression without drugs.

Since 1997, Dr. Dey has also been an associate clinical professor of biomedical sciences at the University of California, Riverside.

He received his medical degree from Loma Linda University School of Medicine and also received his undergraduate degree from Loma Linda University. Additionally, he has an MBA from the University of Redlands.

From 2008 to 2011, Dr. Dey hosted the Mind-Body Connection Radio Show on KTIE NewsTalk 590-AM in the Inland Empire, highlighting current issues in health, emotional wellbeing, and relationships.

Dr. Dey’s Certification

  • Dr. Dey is “board certified” in psychiatry as a diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
  • To receive board certification, a psychiatrist must pass a rigorous examination.
  • Many psychiatrists are not board certified.
